We also offer Logs & Wattles made of wood fibers. Like our straw wattles and logs, Curled Aspen Wood Excelsior Fibers are stuffed into tubes of heavy duty, UV stabilized netting. Although intended for similar applications, there are some character differences between our Aspen Fiber Wattles & Logs vs. our Straw Wattles & Logs. Wattles & Logs made of Aspen Fibers will be about 25% heavier than those made of straw, and the Aspen Fibers tend to be more absorbent than straw. Cost differences are negligible, and in most areas, specifications allow for either Straw or Aspen Fiber Wattles & Logs to be used.
The larger diameter and longer lengths of Logs
make them a better replacement for straw/hay bales.

Made with lightweight and durable materials, Triangular Silt Dike® Barrier weighs just 7 or 9 lbs per seven foot section and installs in minutes with U-shaped wire staples. Built-in aprons on both sides of the barrier prevent undermining and scour from failing the structure. Triangular Silt Dike® Barrier is durable enough to be driven over, returning immediately to its original shape, yet flexible enough to be installed on rough or rocky terrain. The units are reusable, and multiple units can be interconnected to create a continuous barrier.
