Seam Tapes
To maximize your film’s versatility and minimize installation times, GSI offers a full line of tape sealants for our lightweight films and for non critical applications. Dura-Tape® is a 2 mil permanent acrylic adhesive on 50# release paper with a white, 6 mil string-reinforced backing. Dura-Tape® is for use with our lightweight polyethylene films in applications requiring high shear strengths.

Poly Seal® is a 2 sided adhesive tape used for joining two panels of polyethylene sheeting together by overlapping the edges eliminating an exposed tape joint. Poly Seal® is non hardening and permanently flexible. It is a good choice for long term applications where shear strengths are relatively low.

Transit-Seal® is recommended for applications requiring strong and quick adhesion to polyethylene sheeting. It has a black HDPE 5 mil backing with 1.5 mil permanent acrylic adhesive on a 90# release paper. Its adhesion gains strength with time making it well suited to long-term applications.

| Moldable Sealant® and G25® tapes are comprised of a synthetic elastomeric adhesive which bonds instantly in a wide range of temperatures to most plastics, metals and concrete. Moldable Sealant® is a 2 sided tape used for blind overlap seams. The G25® has a special multi-polymer alloy film backing making it resistant to sunlight, thermal expansion, abrasion and puncture. Moldable Sealant® and G25® provide a very aggressive bond to polyethylene sheeting. They are non-hardening and permanently flexible. They work well for long term applications where shear stresses are low. |
