SiltTex® Geotextile Tubes
Made from high strength geotextiles, SiltTex® Geotextile Tubes have numerous applications in the areas of liquid waste and sludge dewatering, dredge material management, shoreline protection and island and wetland reclamation. SiltTex® Geotextile Tubes are designed to be hydraulically filled. As sludge or slurry is pumped into the tube, the liquid portion is forced through the fabric but the solid particles remain trapped within the tube. Once dewatered, tubes can be left in place as in the case of protection, restoration or reclamation applications. In dewatering applications, the remaining solid materials are dry enough to be easily excavated, transported and disposed of. No matter what the application, SiltTex® Geotextile Tubes can provide an environmentally friendly solution that saves not only money, but can usually be done in less time, with far less disturbance than conventional methods.

In most cases, SiltTex® Geotextile Tubes can provide a faster and more economical means of dewater dredge or sludge materials. |
Adding flocculants to the dewatering process can often improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SiltTex® Tubes. A Hanging Bag Test is recommended to determine and demonstrate the likely results of dewatering site specific materials and/or the effectiveness of various flocculants at various rates. We will be happy to assist you with this process. Please contact us if you are interested in working with SiltTex® Tubes.
Suitable for most dewatering applications, SiltTex Tube 46T made of polypropylene is our most versatile. For protection and reclamation applications, Polyester geotextiles are most common.

The material quickly dewaters, leaving dry, easily transportable and/or disposable material.
GSI is able to manufacture SiltTex Tubes to fit almost any application. |
Bio-Tubes® are the only natural, biodegradable geotextile tubes designed for restoration and dewatering projects. Please contact us if you would like more information on Bio-Tubes®.
